Each year, probably at least 25 now, living around the world, our family looked forward to our delivery of the large rum cake packed imaginatively wrapped and ready for holiday parties. I must now confess that our family didn’t want to share these delicacies with guests and instead, put them aside for our own midnight snacks. We might also save them for the christmas morning gift ritual. Now, the three boys are all taller than dad and we have to make sure each of our three boys gets his allotment.
